Here is a güllaç recipe you can easily prepare at home:

Ingredients:

  • 10 güllaç leaves
  • 1 liter Sütiş Farm Pasteurized Cow’s Milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • Half a cup of crushed walnuts or pistachios
  • 1 teaspoon rose water (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan and add the granulated sugar, stirring until dissolved. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Soak the güllaç leaves in the milk until they soften.
  3. Place one güllaç leaf on the bottom of a serving plate.
  4. Sprinkle some walnuts or pistachios on top and place the second güllaç leaf on top.
  5. Repeat this process until all the leaves are used up.
  6. Pour some of the remaining milk over the güllaç leaf you placed on the top layer.
  7. Let the güllaç leaves soak in the milk until they are completely saturated.
  8. Optionally, garnish with walnuts or pistachios.
  9. Let the güllaç rest in the refrigerator until it has fully absorbed the milk.
  10. Slice and serve before serving.

You can slice the güllaç you’ve prepared and serve it cold.
