We visited our farm in Kırklareli Vize with Associate Professor Yavuz Dizdar and discussed the unknowns about our buffaloes and buffalo milk.
We hosted Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yavuz DIZDAR at Sütiş Farm, established on 50 acres of land in Kırklareli Vize, where we toured the farm and had an enjoyable conversation about buffaloes and buffalo milk. During our pleasant conversation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dizdar made important statements about buffalo milk, emphasizing that buffalo milk is actually the best milk we can get because it contains its own quality.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yavuz Dizdar stated that buffaloes are considered free-roaming animals by nature and have a wandering lifestyle. He explained that the reason buffalo milk is fattier than other types of milk is because buffaloes have high fat content and expend more calories producing fat than they do producing milk.
Addressing concerns about potential allergies due to its fat content, Dr. Dizdar stated, “Products made from buffalo milk retain their natural properties. You cannot artificially increase the milk production of this animal. The advantages of buffalo milk, especially in terms of allergies or nutrition, stem from this. But in a way, the milk itself is already of high quality.”
During our conversation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dizdar also mentioned the delicious taste of buffalo milk, in addition to its quality, and emphasized that children over the age of 1 can consume buffalo milk in addition to breast milk.
